A real Goodyear blimp — the Wingfoot Three — has been wrapped in GTA 6's Vice City livery and taken off from Ohio, bound for Florida, as Rockstar's launch campaign takes to the skies.

What this means

  • Rockstar's GTA 6 launch campaign now includes a real flying billboard — a Goodyear blimp crossing the country is impossible to miss and earns free viral marketing.
  • The blimp's Florida destination ties directly into the October 15 Miami Beach branding window — expect it over South Florida as the campaign peaks.
  • Blimps are GTA iconography: this doubles as a marketing stunt and a nod to GTA 5's Atomic Blimp, the series' first flyable vehicle.
  • Anyone in Florida in the coming weeks may spot it in person — a photo-friendly launch spectacle worth watching for.

Key facts

  • Date: October 13, 2026 — blimp photographed lifting off.
  • Aircraft: Wingfoot Three (N3A), a Goodyear Zeppelin LZ N07-101.
  • Route: Goodyear Airdock, Akron, Ohio to Pompano Beach, Florida.
  • Livery: "VICE CITY" text on the sides; GTA VI logo underneath.

GTA 6 marketing is about to fly — literally. One of the few working blimps in the world has been wrapped in Vice City livery and taken to the skies. The Wingfoot Three (N3A), a Goodyear Zeppelin LZ N07-101, was photographed wearing "VICE CITY" text on its sides and the GTA VI logo underneath.

The photos came from members of the Goodyear Blimp Fan Club Facebook group. Rebecca Trussel was first to share a picture of the aircraft with the Vice City branding, followed by more shots from Cecil Richmond and Jim Cassatt inside and outside the hangar. Roger Durfee captured the blimp taking off, with the GTA VI logo clearly visible underneath.

At the time of reporting, the aircraft had just lifted off. According to James W. Ward, the Wingfoot Three is scheduled to fly from the Goodyear Airdock in Akron, Ohio to Pompano Beach, Florida — landing it right in the middle of Rockstar's real-world launch campaign, days before the Miami Beach Vice City branding window opens on October 15.

Blimps and GTA go way back. One appeared in GTA VI Trailer 1, and there's an expectation it will be flyable in the final game. GTA 5's Atomic Blimp was the series' first flyable vehicle — a pre-order bonus directly inspired by the classic Goodyear blimp — and later GTA versions added the Xero Blimp, while GTA Online lets players wrap blimps in their nightclub liveries.

Rockstar has not issued an official statement about the blimp — the story comes from the fan-club photos and the reported flight schedule. But a real Goodyear blimp in Vice City colors crossing the country is the kind of launch spectacle that needs no press release.
