What this means
- This is likely the last major GTA 6 reveal before launch — Rockstar’s final marketing beat before November 19.
- Jason’s army backstory is new story information: this trailer gives the first real explanation of why he turned to crime.
- The PS5-only capture end card confirms how deep Sony’s GTA 6 marketing deal runs (remember the launch-day Midnight Black PS5 in Japan).
- A full soundtrack album rollout with pre-saves, vinyl and CD means Rockstar is treating the music as a launch event of its own.

Rockstar Games has shadowdropped the official GTA 6 launch trailer. The 90-second trailer landed on October 15 with no warning and no teaser, published across Rockstar’s social channels (RockstarINTEL notes it went live at 2pm BST). This is the third trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI — and almost certainly the final one before launch.
The trailer dives into the game’s plot: Jason’s army past (“I got in trouble in the army. Didn’t leave on the best of terms,” he says, suggesting he felt pushed into a life of crime), Lucia leaping onto the landing gear of a moving airplane, and the pair’s robberies and chases across Leonida. The official trailer description sets the stakes: after an easy score goes wrong, Jason and Lucia are pulled into a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other to survive.
The music is a headline of its own. The trailer debuts “Flower in a Hurricane,” a new single from Justice — the French electronic duo composing GTA 6’s original score — featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The track will appear on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the game’s official soundtrack, which is already up for pre-save on streaming services and pre-order on vinyl and CD.
Rockstar states the trailer was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5. RockstarINTEL notes the end card specifically says PS5 — not PS5 Pro — underlining how deep Sony’s GTA 6 marketing partnership runs. GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
