What this means

  • The leak confirms the Miami Beach takeover was real before Rockstar's official rollout — and shows how tightly Rockstar guards its marketing reveals.
  • A sub-1,000-view video can still go global when it's GTA 6: posting anything before an official reveal carries real-world consequences.
  • Treat the firing claim as one person's account for now — but it fits Rockstar's decades-long pattern of extreme secrecy around reveals.

Key facts

  • Who: TikTok user Graham Simmon, who was helping install GTA 6 beach marketing gear in Miami.
  • What happened: He posted an early look at Vice City-branded chairs and umbrellas; it spread online after reposts, and he says he was fired.
  • When: Explained in a TikTok video posted October 20, 2026; reported by Kotaku and Dexerto on October 21.
  • What he said: Original video had under 1,000 views; he called it "my fault" and said he wasn't blaming the company.
  • Unconfirmed: Neither Rockstar Games nor Boucher Brothers has publicly confirmed the firing — it rests solely on Simmon's own account.

Rockstar's real-world Vice City marketing blitz has claimed an unexpected casualty. TikTok user Graham Simmon says he was fired from his job after posting a video showing GTA 6 and Vice City-branded beach chairs, umbrellas and cabanas set up on Miami Beach — footage that later spread across the internet.

In a follow-up TikTok video posted October 20, Simmon explained that he had been helping install the beach gear — part of Rockstar's wider marketing push that also includes blimps and an NBA tie-in — and decided to share an early look. "A few days ago, I posted a video where I was unboxing [these GTA 6] chairs on the beach," he said. "All the chairs, umbrellas, cabanas. I posted it; it had less than 1,000 views, and I was told to take them down."

The problem: other people had already screenshotted and reposted the footage, and it went viral among GTA fans on X, Instagram and TikTok. According to Simmon, the company he was working for "didn't like that," and he was let go. "So yeah, basically GTA 6 cost me my job." He said he was new on the job, wasn't told recording wasn't allowed, and called the firing "my fault" — insisting he wasn't blaming the company and just wanted to share what he considered a "funny story."

The beach equipment was part of the Miami Beach takeover that began October 15, sitting inside a reported $4 million deal between Rockstar and Boucher Brothers. Crucially, neither Rockstar Games nor Boucher Brothers has publicly confirmed that Simmon was fired — the claim comes entirely from his own TikTok account. Take the firing itself as his word, but the underlying event it leaked was real: the branded beach gear is on Miami Beach right now.
