How to Pre-Order GTA 6 (PS5 & Xbox): Price, Editions & Bonuses

GTA 6 pre-orders are open for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the US, Standard costs $79.99 and Ultimate costs $99.99. Buy through your platform’s official store or a retailer serving your region. Qualifying purchases include the Vintage Vice City Pack; eligible digital orders also have a GTA+ offer. Pre-load starts November 12, ahead of the November 19, 2026 release.

You have picked your console. Now comes the less exciting part: working out which edition to buy, what “physical” actually means, and whether that free subscription needs canceling later.

This guide covers those decisions before you pay. Prices below are US-dollar reference prices, not a promise of the amount every country’s checkout will charge. Store conditions were checked on October 12, 2026.

Where Can You Pre-Order GTA 6, and Which Edition Should You Choose?

Start with the PlayStation Store listing, the Xbox Store edition selector, or the Rockstar Store. Confirm that the publisher is Rockstar Games and that the listing matches your console.

The GTA 6 Standard Edition price covers the main game. My recommendation is to choose it if you mainly want to experience Jason and Lucia’s story in Leonida. Consider Ultimate if its specific extras appeal to you, rather than assuming the higher price is necessary.

One expensive item to distinguish: the $399.99 Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a merchandise box. The game is sold separately. Its price should not be mistaken for the GTA 6 pre-order price.

How Do You Pre-Order GTA 6 on PS5 or Xbox?

Use the account you intend to play on. Before checking out, confirm the store country, displayed currency and accepted payment method. These steps describe the official storefront route; button wording can vary between the console, website and app.

PS5: use PlayStation Store

1. Open PlayStation Store. Search for “Grand Theft Auto VI,” or follow the official listing above while signed in.
2. Check the platform and edition. Make sure you are buying the PS5 game, not just an upgrade or another GTA product.
3. Review the order. Check the price, bonus terms and any additional checkout charges.
4. Select Pre-Order and complete checkout. PlayStation charges your payment method or wallet when the order is placed.
5. Confirm the purchase. Keep your receipt and check that the game appears in your library.

Xbox Series X|S: use Microsoft Store

1. Open Microsoft Store on your Xbox or visit the official Xbox listing in your browser and sign in.
2. Find Grand Theft Auto VI. Confirm Xbox Series X|S compatibility and select Standard or Ultimate.
3. Check what the purchase includes. An Ultimate Edition Upgrade on its own is not the base game.
4. Review payment and select Pre-order. Follow checkout and save the confirmation.
5. Check your order history. Make sure the order is recorded and the payment method will remain valid before release.

Buying an Xbox game through a web browser does not make it a Windows PC edition. Check the supported devices on the product page, not simply the device you use to buy it.

Does the GTA 6 Physical Edition Include a Disc?

No. Rockstar describes the physical edition as a box containing a download code. You still need to download the game, so buying the box does not avoid a large download or give you a disc to lend afterward.

The practical difference is delivery. A digital edition bought directly from your console’s store is tied to your account. With a boxed copy, you need the package and its redeemable code before you can use that purchase to install the game.

Ask the retailer which platform and account region the code supports, when the box ships, and when it is expected to arrive. Do not assume a shipping date is a delivery guarantee.

Take-Two Interactive’s pre-order announcement says boxed versions become available from November 12 to support pre-loading. Your retailer’s fulfillment schedule still matters. See our physical edition guide for the ownership and delivery differences.

What GTA 6 Pre-Order Bonuses Do You Get?

There are two offers to understand: the in-game Vintage Vice City Pack and the GTA+ subscription promotion for eligible digital purchases. Buying a box should not be treated as automatically qualifying for the digital-store subscription offer.

Vintage Vice City Pack

The pack includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and a garage near Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a tropical weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti’s shirt. Items become available as the story progresses.

Rockstar’s announcement includes pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026. The official pack listing provides the item details and digital purchase cutoff. Follow your storefront’s local deadline rather than assuming every region uses the same timezone.

Claiming the GTA+ month on PlayStation

After an eligible digital purchase, visit the GTA+ product page and follow the offer instructions. Sony allows qualifying new, returning and existing subscribers to claim the month by March 31, 2027, with one redemption per account.

The subscription continues as a paid monthly membership unless canceled. Check the renewal date shown when claiming it. Age and country restrictions apply; Sony’s GTA VI offer terms explain eligibility.

Claiming the GTA+ month on Xbox

The Xbox listing gives a different deadline: redeem within 180 days of placing your pre-order. Watch for the console notification, then open the Store’s profile menu and check “Offers & credits.” Review the subscription terms shown before claiming.

The GTA+ offer is separate from access to GTA VI itself. Do not read a free subscription month as an early-access pass.

When Will You Be Charged, and Can You Cancel?

Payment timing and cancellation rights depend on where you buy. Read the refund and cancellation policy attached to your own order, especially if you might change your mind.

Under the US PlayStation cancellation policy, an order paid more than 14 days before release can generally be canceled before release, provided the main content has not started downloading or streaming. That restriction includes pre-loading.

For purchases made within 14 days of release, the policy provides a 14-day window after payment, again subject to its download conditions. Faulty-content exceptions and applicable local rights remain relevant. Check your country’s policy.

Microsoft’s pre-order guidance directs customers to order history to cancel. It says an order canceled after billing but before release is processed as a refund. If you cannot find a cancellation option, contact support rather than assuming the order was canceled.

For a boxed order, ask the retailer about cancellation before dispatch and returns after opening or code redemption. The console store’s policy does not automatically cover a purchase made elsewhere.

When Can You Pre-Load and Play GTA 6?

Pre-load: November 12, 2026. Release date: November 19, 2026. Pre-loading lets you download ahead of release; it does not make the game playable a week early.

Use your console’s displayed download size to check storage, and leave time for your connection to finish. This guide does not invent a final file size or a worldwide unlock time. Check the countdown on your own store listing for your region.

How Can You Avoid a GTA 6 Pre-Order Scam?

Slow down if a seller creates urgency but cannot clearly explain what you are buying. Before paying, check:

• The actual product: full game, upgrade, wallet credit, merchandise or access to somebody else’s account?
• The seller and address: reach the store through an official link, and inspect the domain before entering payment details.
• The platform and region: a cheap code is no bargain if it cannot be redeemed on your account.
• The delivery and refund terms: keep a copy of the listing, receipt and promised delivery date.

No official native PC edition or PC pre-order is announced in the sources checked here. A listing promising a confirmed PC key or instant playable access therefore needs evidence from Rockstar. A placeholder listing alone is not proof of fraud, but it is not an official release announcement either.

Do not give a seller your account password or recovery codes. If the deal depends on using a shared login, you are not receiving the same product as a game purchase on your own account.
