Standard owners will also be able to buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately later, though its price isn’t confirmed.

Who should buy which? Buy Standard if you want the game itself. If you’re unsure, you can start with Standard and upgrade later. Buy Ultimate if you want the extras from day one.

Digital vs physical: what’s in the box?

The short answer: The physical edition has no disc. The box contains a download code.

Rockstar confirmed that physical copies of GTA 6 carry a code for the digital download. You still download the whole game, so a boxed copy is essentially a code in a case. The Ultimate Edition is mainly a digital purchase, so ask the retailer whether a boxed version exists.
